One of six children, George sared his working life in the ship yards of Belfast as a welder. He joined the RAF just before the end of WW2, working at a fireman and an air traffic controller before retiring after 30 years. He joined the Peterborough City Council as a Planning enforcement officer before retiring to take care of his beloved wife, Bridie as she successfully fought serious illness. His passion in life apart from his family was any form of sport and any form of gadget
